Honoring Their Service. Preserving Their Legacy.
The Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery - Augusta will serve as a lasting place of honor, remembrance, and reflection for veterans and their families across the Central Savannah River Area.
A Lasting Place of Honor for the CSRA
For generations, veterans and military families throughout the Central Savannah River Area have served our nation with courage, sacrifice, and distinction.
The purpose of the CSRA Veterans Cemetery Fund is to support the construction, maintenance and operation of the state veterans cemetery in Augusta. The funds provided will cover expenses not included in the construction grant from the Veterans Administration and the budget of the Georgia Department of Veterans Services.
This cemetery will serve veterans and families across the broader CSRA community, uniting Georgia and South Carolina in a shared commitment to those who served.

Where Things Stand
Organizational Fund Formation
The CSRA Veterans Cemetery Fund is proud to partner with the Community Foundation for the CSRA, our region’s trusted philanthropic partner. Through this partnership, the Foundation provides the financial stewardship, administrative support, and charitable framework necessary to responsibly receive and manage contributions made in support of the cemetery project.
Community Planning
Over the next several months, representatives of the CSRA Veterans Cemetery Fund will engage with civic organizations, veterans groups, local leaders, businesses, and community members throughout the region. These conversations will provide opportunities to share the vision for the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, explain the project’s progress, and build broad community support.
We will continue to provide regular updates as planning, fundraising, design, and construction milestones are reached. Our goal is to ensure the community remains informed, involved, and united in creating a lasting place of honor for the veterans and military families of the CSRA.
